The National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) is pleased to offer the option of credit in the form of Continuing Education Units (CEUs) to coaches who have completed the following courses:
  • Fundamentals of Coaching
  • First Aid for Coaches
  • Fundamentals of Coaching Soccer
  • Fundamentals of Coaching Wrestling
  • Fundamentals of Coaching Football
  • Engaging Effectively with Parents

The CEUs will be awarded by the United States Sports Academy. As a CEU provider for NFHS, the Academy will award two CEUs upon successful completion of Fundamentals of Coaching, First Aid for Coaches, Fundamentals of Coaching Soccer, Fundamentals of Coaching Wrestling, Fundamentals of Coaching Football, and Engaging Effectively with Parents to those coaches who wish such credit as an option.

CEUs are awarded based upon the Carnegie Educational System at the successful conclusion of a continuing education course, seminar, or workshop. One CEU is equivalent to ten clock hours of participation in a recognized continuing education program. CEUs are widely used in the sports and fitness industry by coaches, teachers, administrators, and other professionals to help determine salary increments, promotions, and maintenance of certifications.

Coaches who successfully complete any one of the above courses can purchase CEUs and print the CEU certificate online immediately by using their NFHS Certification Number.

Coaches may also call the Academy’s Department of Continuing Education at 251-626-3303 to pay by credit card and register for CEUs. The NFHS Certification Number is required for verification.

Individuals who successfully complete any one of the above courses have up to one year from the date of completion to apply for CEUs.

Student CEU records are maintained in the Academy Office of Student Services. Requests for transcripts may be obtained by clicking the following link: http://media.ussa.edu/files/documents/forms/request_transcipt.pdf. The first transcript is free, and each additional transcript is $10.
