The Certification process has four (4) steps. Do not attempt to proceed before reading the following information:

To be eligible for Certification you MUST have successfully completed A,B,& C below:

      A. NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching

      B. First Aid
• Exemptions for first aid
  • Current Athletic Training (certified or licensed in your state)
  • Current Instructor in American Red Cross Sport Safety Training
  • Current Instructor in ASEP Sport First Aid

• Eligible sport first-aid courses completed within the last three (3) years.
  • NFHS First Aid for Coaches (American Red Cross/USOC)
  • PREPARE (National Center for Sports Safety)
  • ASEP Sport First Aid
  • Sport Safety Training (American Red Cross)
  • Sports Injury Prevention and First Aid (American Red Cross)
  • KMA/KHSAA Sports Safety Course (Kentucky)
  • CARE AND PREVENTION OF ATHLETIC INJURIES (Maryland)
  • MHSAA CAP 1 Module 3 Sports Medicine (Michigan)
  • Fairfax County Sport First Aid (Virginia)
  • American Heart Association HeartSaver First Aid


**College courses will not be accepted unless it resulted in a certification from the American Red Cross in Sports Injury Prevention and First Aid.

**CPR training does not qualify as an eligible first aid course. You must have one of the first aid courses listed above to be eligible for NFHS Coach Certification.


      C. NFHS sport-specific course or Teaching Sport Skills

* Coach may only Get Certified™ in one sport at a time or receive a general certification by completing Teaching Sport Skills. Example: A coach may Get Certified™ as a football coach and later return to this application and Get Certified™ as a soccer coach, but not at the same time. The coach will have a separate pin and plaque for each certification. If your sport is not yet available you may still Get Certified™ by completing Teaching Sport Skills.



We will need your shipping information so that we can send your certificate and pin to the address that you desire.



We will want to make sure your name is spelled properly and you have the opportunity to see how your certificate will appear.



Your billing information is needed to complete the process. You may use a debit card or credit card.
