A state component is the delivery of content specific or unique to that state that a coach is responsible for knowing and is tested on.

Content is designed to inform coaches on state-specific issues, which may include information on eligibility, rules, or programs unique to the individual state.

In this state component coaches will be given an overview of the VHSL organization, review the state rules and regulations, and learn how the VHSL Handbook and Policy Manual is organized. To complete the state component, coaches will review the handbook and be given a test, in which they must score 80% or better to pass.
